Haiti Child Sponsorship Renewal

All-In-One Village Haiti
and
Church at the Bay
Child Sponsorship Renewal

Web link for online renewal form:

CATB partnered with The Global Orphan Project about 2years ago to sponsor an orphanage in Haiti.  As of January 2012, CATB was sponsoring 35 full-time orphans at All-In-One Village in Haiti and 28 children from the community who come for schooling and meals.   Pastor Joseph Kesnel oversees the orphan homes, the school, and the church in our village.

Your monthly support of $41.00 will cover the cost required to clothe, feed, care for, and educate one orphan at our village.  CATB has also been able to fund projects such as: repairing the school, church and orphan homes after the 2010 Earthquake.
Kesnel takes in “true orphans,” those whose parents have died, and “orphans by necessity,” orphans whose parents cannot care for them.  Due to the transitory nature of the orphanage your child might change from year to year as we support Kesnel’s ministry and God’s work of uniting families.
Thank you for partnering with Church at the Bay and All-In-One Village on this amazing journey of life change.

On Generosity, by Jennifer Savini, missionary in Haiti

Jennifer and Chris Savini, along with their two children, Ella and Xander, live in Dargout, Haiti with the orphanage we sponsor. Please take a moment to read this captivating post on the beautiful generosity of one of the orphans.

You might see a few penny candies, but this is actually picture of extreme generosity.

A boy, an orphan, on a rare adventure to Port au Prince to celebrate Haiti's Flag Day, collected a few pieces of candy during the parade.  He counted out four and put them in his pocket.  Hours later, he brought them to me.  Shyly passing them into my hand, he told me that there was one for me, one for Chris and one each for Xander and Ella.

What if I want to go, but can't afford it?

You can raise funds for the trip. The $100 deposit needs to come from you, but the rest of the amount can be raised. It's a great opportunity to give friends, family and co-workers the chance to participate in what you're doing and to jump-start conversations about church and following Christ.

Entrusted with Much

From Brian Heckman's Blog............

Luke 12:48 "...when someone has been entrusted with much, even more will be required."

It is this physical touch of love, care and safety that all humans are naturally wired to need. Especially for a baby, though, who doesn't yet understand what's going on, it's like that just becomes how they learn "love".

Both my kids have grown up w/ this time. They don't know life without the loving touch of mom & dad, the caring & safe arms of us both. We, and our kids, probably take for granted, even overlook, the whole "physical touch" thing on most days.
And then, there are the children who are born into a life very different from ours...
I was getting a tour of this orphanage's dorm rooms from two 10-yr old orphans, when I saw this little guy. He was just left there, at the edge of this empty bedroom.  It was my first sobering reminder of the logistical realities of an orphanage. The adults have so much work to do & so many kids to take care of, they physically can not be "with" the babies all the time. We try and throw our money at these situations, but its loving human hands that are needed. The harvest really is plentiful...and the workers really are few.
He looked up at me and I saw my own 12-month old in him, just wanting my attention & affection...wanting to be held. That's what we did this mission trip for, to "hold and love on kids"...so I did...
